Ovate family proteins are a family of transcriptional repressors, shown to be at work in multiple cellular processes in a variety of flowering plants. OFPs are characterized by an OVATE domain, a roughly 70 AA C-terminal domain first characterised in tomato. There are 18 AtOFPs, but only 4 have been shown to regulate growth, in various ways such as regulation of cell elongation, gibberellins biosynthesis, and secondary cell wall formation (PMID:21886836).
